The Betuwe as a backdrop for every season
The Betuwe is one of the most characteristic regions of the Netherlands. In spring, the orchards turn soft pink with blossom, while summer and late summer are all about fruit, crops and local produce. Various hiking and cycling routes start from the resort and take guests past orchards, the Lower Rhine and through picturesque villages.
For active guests, the area offers plenty of opportunities, such as:
- Canoeing or supping on the river Linge
- Walking and cycling
- Visiting picking gardens or fruit farms
- A day’s golf at the nearby courses
Thanks to its central location, De Wielsche Dreef is an ideal starting point for those looking to discover different parts of the Netherlands, as well as have regional experience right on the doorstep.
A quick ferry across the Lower Rhine takes you to the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, known for its wooded hills, long walking routes and impressive views. In short: an ideal base for a spontaneous, carefree holiday close to home.
Although the resort itself exudes the tranquility of the countryside, several attractions are also within easy reach including Amerongen Castle and Landgoed Mariënwaerdt. For families, zoos such as Ouwehands Dierenpark in Rhenen are a short distance away. Culture lovers can visit museums such as the Flipje & Streekmuseum in Tiel or the Airborne Museum in Oosterbeek.
Phased opening with careful development
De Wielsche Dreef opens on 31 July 2026 with 39 new 2-, 4- and 6-bed holiday homes. Larger 8-, 10- and 12-bed accommodations will also follow later this year.
The resort will open with a reception, a park shop offering fresh sandwiches, bike rentals, and a temporary indoor playground.
Two new Landal destinations complement each other
The opening of De Wielsche Dreef, complements the earlier introduction of Landal Zeezigt on the coast this Spring. While guests there choose beach, sea and fresh sea air, De Wielsche Dreef offers the tranquillity and simplicity of the Lower Rhine countryside. These two completely different additions to the Landal portfolio invite guests to get away from it all in nature, however you like to holiday.
